In-House Training

Kate currently has no availability for in-house training as places are fully booked until mid 2017.

In-house is suitable for starting horses under saddle, re-training, advancing and solving problems. Video updates are supplied however owners are most welcome to attend as much of the training as possible. Knowing this is not always easy, Kate does like to provide a detailed lesson on collection day.

In-house training is often most effective when broken down into chunks. For example, if you are wanting your horse started under saddle, you might leave the horse with Kate for a week and then go home and work on what has been taught and bring it back later to progress. This way you are involved in the process, learning along with the horse and much better equipped to continue the training at home.

In-house training may be a good option for you if you are unable to come along with your horse on a residential course or join one of the clinic series. The cost of in-house training is $1000 a week (colts and stallions by negotiation). This includes all care and hay (please bring special feed and supplements). Horses are worked up to 3 times a day to maximise learning outcomes by reducing stress and ensure that the horse does not become tired or sore.

If your horse requires collection that can be arranged. Kate will, where available, collect your horse for a charge of $1.70 per km. Collection will be done with the Kandoo Equine 2HA float however if your horse is not a good loader you may require Kate to do the loading lesson on pick up day (see the Trailer Loading page). If your horse simply 'not perfect' at loading then that lesson can be done during the training at Kangadoo and will obviously be considerably less costly that way.
